"City Club has become my go-to for both business and social gatherings, it's where everything just works."
City Club Birmingham has served downtown Birmingham for decades; bringing together business, dining, events, and connection high above the city.
City Club Birmingham's official story begins in 1989, but the club's broader local lineage goes back even further. Local historical records indicate the institution originated in 1962 as the Relay House Club, later became the Summit Club when it moved to the top of the newly completed AmSouth-Harbert Plaza in 1989, and was reintroduced as City Club Birmingham in 2016 as part of ClubCorp's City Club Collection.
City Club Birmingham began with strong business-club roots, and that foundation still matters to us. But like Birmingham itself, we have continued to evolve.
Over time, we have expanded the experience to reflect how people gather now; with a stronger emphasis on dining, more ways to connect, and spaces that support everything from weekday meetings to private celebrations. We have renewed our focus on improving the culinary experience and strengthening the amenities that make the Club useful, comfortable, and worth returning to.
We believe the best clubs evolve without losing what made them matter in the first place
For us, that means honoring our history while continuing to raise the standard
Today, City Club Birmingham is a private club shaped by the rhythm of the city. Some members join us for breakfast before the day begins. Others come in for meetings, client lunches, private events, or evenings that last a little longer than planned.
We are still a place for business, but we are more than that. We are also a place for dining, conversation, celebration, and belonging.
"City Club has become my go-to for both business and social gatherings, it's where everything just works."
"It's not just the space, it's the people, the service, and the experience every time."
The best way to understand City Club Birmingham is to experience it in person. Walk the space, take in the view, meet the team, and see how the club fits into the life of downtown Birmingham today.
